Hi!

My career covers fifteen years of increasingly responsible communication and interpersonal roles. Although family responsibilities resulted in a diverse career path, I quickly acquired new skills and experiences and this flexibility allowed me to adjust quickly and smoothly to new opportunities. I believe this, together with my existing skills and experience, makes me a strong candidate for many positions.

Regardless of job title or other responsibilities, employers soon recognised my interpersonal  skills and assigned all enquiries, complaints and crisis situations to my desk, where my listening, problem solving and diplomacy skills, warm smile and calm demeanour was valued by colleagues, clients and guests.

My communication skills were recognised by the Globe and Mail, Toronto Life and others who published my work, I created clear, concise ‘Version B’ memos for the Vice President, Kenair Apartments, and recommended  modifying the language used for stakeholder communications to alleviate the existing stress during the Light Rail Transit project.

In 2014 I enhanced my practical expertise by achieving a Certificate in Public Relations from McMaster University and in the summer of 2015 I accepted a public relations internship with the Office of Advancement, DeGroote School of Business. Some assignments utilising my editing and research skills were:

~ Established directory for ‘Find The Expert’ service to journalists/others

~ Developed weekly ‘Buzz’ stories to maintain donor interest and confidence

~ Evaluated tools used by North American business schools to promote faculty

~ Edited faculty research papers to create factual, concise ‘snapshots’ for public consumption

In hiring me, you will acquire a self-starter who works as well autonomously as part of a team, whose work demonstrates effective communication and decision making, and whose ambassadorial qualities will impress the most recalcitrant of clients or donors.
